The New York 2017 car show is used to help Buick in a double manner.In addition to the new second generation 2018 Buick Enclave, the car maker introduced a new luxury Avenir subrange in the Big Apple.The 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir brings Buick luxury and exclusivity to a whole new level.
“Enclave has become a successful formula for the Buick brand, with sales proceeds that have rejected traditional product cycles and 90 percent of customers bought at the top two levels,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC, in a release.“This is a flare for luxury luxury that Buick can achieve and is a natural place to launch Avenir.”
The second generation of second generation Buber Enclave drives GM1 C2XX chassis long wheelchairs (120.9 inches), which also supports the redesigned Chevrolet Traverse 2018;GMC Acadia two rows or three rows and two rows of Cadillac XT5 ride on chassis C1XX short wheelchair (112.5 inches).(The C1XX chassis replaces Theta Premium and Lambda platforms and is a crossover version of the newer E2XX architecture that replaces the Epsilon II platform.) The 2018 roof measures 204.3 inches overall, 69.9 inches tall and 78.8 inches wide.
With the new chassis present style and new proportions.Buick says that Enclave has a sleeker look and better aerodynamics.The lower roof line and longer wheelbase are said to give a more dramatic impression.
Just like Denali is GMC, the top-rated Avenir models feature exclusive content, including the Buick-first Evickik Acrylite exterior illumination comprising more than 100 LEDs, giving it a unique look on the crossover.The new bifunctional LED headlamps are luxuriously flanking an exclusive three-dimensional grille with chrome wings.Other exclusive exterior features include special alloy wheels and six spoke 20 inches with nickel pearl finishing.Enclave is available in five exclusive exterior paint exterior colors.
All Enclave models feature seven passenger seats in three rows, but Avenir models get Avenir Chestnut and Ebony interiors available with seat piping, contrast stitching and front embroidered headrests.Other unique features include a wood-accented steering wheel, Avenir floormats, and Avenir disc plates on the front and rear.
Other standard features include heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, 8.0-inch reconfigurable cluster screens, navigation, wireless charging, dual moonroof, third-row power cord, and 360-degree camera system.The Avenir Enclave also gets the first application of GM rear glass behind the camera.Buick says that Avenir is equipped with extensive active safety technologies, including up to 17 radar, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors.Security and active drivers are available including adaptive cruise control, high speed auto braking, and more.
“This is a vehicle aimed at Buick customers who want the best and the latest brands we offer,” Aldred said.
All 2018 Buick Enclave models are powered by GM’s 3.6-liter V-6 mated to a new nine-speed automatic transmission.In this application, the machine is preliminarily rated 302 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.Front-drive standard, but Intelligent AWD with twin differential twin differential is actively available.The system is the first Buick all-wheel-drive system.
The suspension consists of a MacPherson buffer in front and a five-link suspension at the rear.Real-time continuously damping suspension with Sport mode is optional.
Although Avenir’s top-spec Enclave comes with a lot of premium content, the lower model also comes with standard features like the IntelliBeam headlamps, which automatically switch between low and high beams.LED back lights are also standard.
Other standard features on all Enclave models include keyless entries and push-button start, tri-zone automatic climate control, universal home remotes, Wi-Fi OnStar 4G LTE hotspot (requires data plan after initial trial period), free five year free OnStar Basic Plan, And myBuick application with OnStar Smart Driver.In addition, the tri-shield Buick logo is projected on the ground under a standard hidden sensor for a hands-free power-programmable liftgate.
The 2018 Buick Enclave also gets a new air ionizer that cleans the air by pulling airborne contaminants with negatively charged particles.This system is said to reduce bacteria, viruses, dust, pollen, and other air impurities without filters or treatments.
The new 10 Bose Premium audio speaker system with redesigned subwoofer enclosure improves overall sound quality.The infotainment system has an uncluttered 8.0-inch screen with Apple CarPlay compatibility and Android Auto, Teen Driver, and Rear Viewer Seat.
Buick says that the new Enclave is much quieter inside than ever, thanks to QuietTuning and active noise cancellation tricks, including vehicle exterior form, enhanced sealing, and sound-muting materials.
A 10-inch basement storage space provides 3.1 cubic feet of extra space in the rear cargo area, helping 2018 Enclave get 10 percent cubic feet overall interior space, according to Buick;The new Enclave has a 23.6 cubic feet cargo space behind the third row.Buick claims that with the second and third fold folds down, Enclave has more cargo space behind the first row than Acura MDX, Audi Q7, and Infiniti QX60.The second seat of the SmartSlide of the car improves access to the third row with the passenger side accommodating the rear seat access with the child seat facing forward (n empty) in the middle row.
All 2018 Enclave models are equipped with rearview camera, rear park assist, and seven airbags, including front air front pockets.Available security technologies include front pedestrian braking, fixed line assist with lane departure alert, traffic crossword alert, surround vision, and safety warning seats.
The 2018 Enclave is the seventh Buick model introduced in less than 24 months, and the automaker says it will launch at least a dozen redesigned or refreshed models globally by the end of the decade-excluding the new Avenir model.
